Kathryn 'Katie' Matott is a strategic communications and external affairs executive with more than two decades of experience leading communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, crisis response, and organizational change initiatives across higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, and corporate sectors.
As Associate Vice President of Communications for Northland Pioneer College, she serves as principal communications advisor to the President and executive leadership team, leading communications, marketing, media relations, branding, public information, and internal communications efforts. She oversees enterprise-wide communication strategies supporting accreditation, strategic planning, enrollment growth, workforce development, and community engagement.
Katie has extensive experience developing executive speeches, board communications, public affairs strategies, advocacy materials, crisis communications plans, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. She has led communications for organizational change efforts, technology transitions, emergency response situations, and strategic initiatives while building collaborative relationships with government agencies, educational institutions, tribal communities, business leaders, and nonprofit organizations.
She holds a Master of Arts in Communications from Eastern New Mexico University and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
